Steven C. Schrader

     Steven C. Schrader, 66, died July 14 at his home in Decorah, IA.      Visitation will be held from 3:00-4:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, Decorah, IA, followed by a time of Sharing Memories at 4:00 p.m.      Steve Schrader was born Sept. 3, 1948, in Cedar Rapids to H.J. "Gus" Schrader and the former Jane Schmidt. He graduated in 1966 from George Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, earned a bachelor's degree in 1970 from the University of Iowa and received a juris doctorate in 1973 from the University of Iowa, College of Law. He served on the faculty of Luther College from 1973-78. He served as a Winneshiek County magistrate from 1979 to 2014. Steven was a avid golfer and bridge player, and also enjoyed hiking.      Steve is survived by his son, Matt Gray of Ames; sisters, Ann O'Neill (Pat) of Littleton, CO., and Melissa McGuire (Mike) of Charlotte, N.C.; niece Caitlin O'Neill of Littleton, and uncle and aunt, Gene and Bonnie Schmidt of Cedar Rapids.      Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
