Vivian Phillips

Vivian Phillips, age 84, of Fort Atkinson, IA, died on her birthday, Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at the Accura Health Care Center in Cresco, IA where she has lived for the past ten years.Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville with Father Aaron Junge presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.Visitation will be after 9:00 a.m., at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville on Saturday morning.Vivian Marcella (Frana) Phillips was born on October 10, 1934 the daughter of William and Lillian (Jirak) Frana in Howard County, IA. She grew up on a farm near Lourdes, IA. She married Richard Phillips on October 1, 1952 in Lourdes. Together they had seven children. Vivian’s family meant everything to her and she thoroughly enjoyed time spent with them. She loved to read, crocheting and taking care of her many house plants. To her, going to church meant going to the “most peaceful place on earth”. Vivian is survived by her husband of 66 years: Richard. Daughters: Catherine (Steven) Brandt, Redwood Falls, MN; Darlene (Loren) Straube, Spillville, IA. Sons: Thomas Phillips, Cresco, IA; Richard (Rose) Phillips, Fort Atkinson, IA; Vincent Phillips, Cresco, IA and Lawrence (Christy) Phillips, Dunkerton, IA. Grandchildren: David (Jessica) Phillips, Eric (Alaina) Phillips, Maria (Stephen) Kingsbury, Christina (Stewart) Otting, Tom Straube, Kurt Straube, Matt (Abby) Straube, Cathy (Jeff Kimber) Straube and Amanda Phillips. Great grandchildren: Nicholas, Brinlee and Alexis Phillips, June Kingsbury, Graham Otting, Connor and Carson Straube, Gracelyn and Griffin Straube, Kiah and Gavin Kimber. Sisters-in-law: Shirley Frana, Waterloo, IA and Ethel Frana, Cresco, IA. Vivian was preceded in death by her son: Ronald. Parents: William and Lillian (Jirak) Frana. Siblings: Donald Frana, Edmund Frana, Wilma (Austin) Blomgren and Jean (Loren) Frymire. Brothers and sisters-in-law: Emma (Alois) Ryant, Rudolph (Eileen) Phillips, Paul Phillips, Regina (August) Shindelar, George (Mary) Phillips and Marie Phillips.
