Virginia Bina age, 90 of Spillville, IA died Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Northbrook Nursing Home in Cedar Rapids, IA after a long illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, IA by Rev. Donald Hawes Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 Tuesday, June 23, at the Balik Funeral Home in Spillville, Iowa with a rosary at 4:00 and after 10:00 at the church on Wednesday. Virginia Victoria (Wichman) Bina was born December 19, 1918, to George and Rose (Herold) Wichman near Waucoma, IA. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and High School in Waucoma, IA. She also attended Area One (NICC) in Calmar, IA, and worked as bookkeeper at Decorah Health Foods. On September 22, 1973, Virginia married Ernest Bina at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waucoma, IA. Together they made their home in Spillville, IA, until she moved to Northbrook Manor in Cedar Rapids, IA, on May 11, 2007. Virginia enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, quilting and gardening. She was a faithful member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Virginia is survived by one sister-in-law: Darlene Wichman, Cedar Rapids, IA. One niece: Theresa Trimble, Cedar Rapids, IA. Three nephews: Jim (Lisa) Wichman, Sioux Falls, SD; Dan (Beth) Wichman, Wittmann, AZ; and John Wichman, Cedar Rapids, IA. Cousin: Ray Herold, Waucoma, IA. Seven great nieces and great nephews: Neil Trimble, April (Travis) Buysse, Andrea Wichman, A.J. Wichman, Anissa Wichman, Cody Wichman and Troy Wichman. Virginia was proceeded in death by her husband: Ernest Bina Her parents: George and Rose (Herold) Wichman and two brothers: Leo and Neil Wichman.
