Vernetta Cline, age 91, of Decorah, IA died Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Wellington Place in Decorah. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2019 at the Decorah Lutheran Church at 309 Winnebago St. in Decorah, burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, in Decorah. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 18, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Schluter Balik Funeral Home in Decorah and after 12:30 at the church on Monday. Vernetta Helen (Bolson) Cline was born June 27, 1928 to Lawrence and Violet (Young) Bolson on her parents farm on the Locust Rd. She attended Decorah Schools and graduated in 1946 In 1947 she entered the Allen Memorial Lutheran School of Nursing in Waterloo, IA. In 1950 she started working at the Smith Memorial Hospital in Decorah and then at the Aase Haugen Home. Vernetta married Robert Cline on September 23, 1950 at the Decorah Lutheran Church. Together they farmed north of Decorah. She was a member of Little Helpers, Dorcas Society, Mothers Club, Ladies Aid, Farm Bureau, Winneshiek Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Allen Memorial Auxiliary Association, Iowa Jersey Cattle Club and a life time member of Decorah Lutheran. Vernetta is survived by Two daughters: Debra Prestsater & husband Roy, Decorah, IA and Julie Ford & husband Michael, Milo, IA. Three sons: Dennis Cline & wife Cheryl, Decorah, IA; Mark Cline & wife Dianne, Decorah, IA and Gary Cline, Decorah, IA. Thirteen grandchildren: Elly (Brian) Lensch; Kara (Nicolas) Zahasky; Jason (Joana) Cline; Nathan Cline; Kevin (Mariselle) Cline; Shannon (Jenna) Cline; Darrin Cline; Valerie (Joe) Mergen; Stephanie (Matthew) Donovan; Adam Cline; Brennan (Angie) Ford; Carissa (Cass) Stubbs and Kelsey (Jacob) Sutter. Great grandchildren: Annika, Hanna, Ari, Beckett, Rocco, Ludovikh, Jazmine, Jazlynn, Braylen, Isla, Charlie, Finley, Hollyn, Payton, Toby, Miles, Mason, Gabrielle, Bentzen, Brooklyn, Peyton, Calen, Lakeyn, Landry, Loghan, Oakley, Maverick and Tragen.Brother: Marlin Bolson, Decorah, IA sister-in-law Connie Bolson, Decorah, IA. In-Laws; Harry (Pat) Cline, Elgin, IA; Gerald (Maria) Cline, West Des Moines, IA and many nieces and nephews. Extended family: Henrietta (Ronald) Engelhardt, Decorah, IA and their daughters: Lori (Peter) Graber, Lisa Engelhardt and Lynnette (Will) Stott. Their grandchildren: Ashley (Jeffrey) Dodson, Jacob Graber, Abigail Stott and Daniel Stott. Great grandchildren: Ainslie, Eleanor and Frances. Vernetta was preceded in death by her Husband; Robert in 2005 Parents: Lawrence and Violet (Young) Bolson. Brother: Ransome Bolson; In-laws Harry and Pauline Cline. Sisters-in-law: Marlys Cline and Syvilla Bolson. Nephew: Daryl Bolson.
