Ursula Heier

Ursula Heier, age 80, of Decorah, IA, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2013, at the Winneshiek Medical center in Decorah, IA. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the Canoe Ridge Lutheran Church, 1316 Canoe Ridge Rd., Decorah, IA, with Rev. Stacey Nalean – Carlson presiding. Burial will be in the Canoe Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00-6:00 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, Decorah, IA, and also after 10:00 a.m., at the church on Saturday morning. Burial will be in the Canoe Ridge Lutheran Cemetery, Decorah, IA. Ursula is survived by her four children: Patricia (Allan) Dahlen, Decorah, IA; Gerhard (Julie) Heier, Spring Grove, MN; Thomas Heier, Tulsa, OK; and Iver Heier, Jr., Des Moines, IA. Grandchildren: Tanya (Steven Johns) Dahlen, Allan (Jana) Dahlen, Jr., Amanda, Amy and Amber Franzen, Josh and Brandy Heier. One great granddaughter: Lillian “Lilli” Donna Dahlen. One sister: Edith (Hans) Mayr, Bad Tolz, Germany. One brother: Lothar (Rosemund) Glaser, Zwickau, Germany. Close family member: Monica (Ano) Luwisky. Ursula was preceded in death by her parents: Max and Frieda Glaser. He beloved husband: Iver Heier, Sr., on August 30, 1975. One sister: Crystal Glaser and brother: Werner and wife Rosemarie Glaser.
