Tony Vick

Tony Vick, age 51, of Ridgeway, IA, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse, WI after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Decorah Lutheran Church, 309 Winnebago St. in Decorah, with Rev. James Glesne and Rev. Bryan Robertson presiding. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00pm on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Ave in Decorah and also after 9:00am until the time of service on Thursday morning at the Church.  Tony Allen Vick was born on January 20, 1968 the son of Darrell Vick and Rose (Rasmussen) Beardmore in Decorah, IA. He graduated from Waukon High School in 1987. Tony attended Iowa State University for one year before leaving school to start his career. He worked for Foremost Farms in Decorah until their closing and for the last ten years has worked for Homeland Energy Solutions where he was most recently a training coordinator. Tony married Stephanie Blake on September 20, 2003 and together they have two children: Chase and Taylor. Tony enjoyed sports but especially Football and Racing. He was a lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He did some racing himself but really enjoyed watching his children race go-carts and all of their other activities. Tony was a member of Decorah Lutheran Church. Tony was known for his infectious smile. He always had a smile for everyone no matter how he was feeling. Tony is survived by his wife Stephanie. Father and mother-in-law: Pat (Sandy) Blake, Dorchester, IA. Brothers-in-law: Pat (Michelle) Blake, Webster City, IA and Shawn (Sara) Blake, Manchester, IA. Sister-in-law: Alison (Brandon) Blake, Decorah, IA. Nieces and nephews: Alyce and Landon Vick; Brock, Abby, Luke, Jude and Olivia Blake. Grandmother: Margaret Blake. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Ray and Grace Rasmussen; Calvin and Thelma Beardmore; Norman and Mildred Vick.
