Tony Stalcup, age 55, of Fort Madison, IA, died on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at his home in Fort Madison of natural causes. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020 followed by a service starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Ave in Decorah. Tony Dean Stalcup, son of Robert Stalcup and Martha Kirk, was born July 3, 1964 in Winterset, Iowa. At the age of 10, the family moved from the farm in Iowa to Bagdad, Arizona. He worked two high school summers at French Camp in Stockton, CA in the onion fields. He always said those were the best days and he learned what work was. Tony married Matilda Gonzales in 1982. From this union, two children were born, Christina and Paul. He married Theresa Carolan in 1996. They were blessed with the arrival of Alexis. Tony went to school as a machinist. He went to work for Cyprus Bagdad Copper Corporation. In 2004 he transferred to Climax Molybdenum Co. in Fort Madison, Iowa. He just recently completed 30 years of service. Tony enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating and camping. He enjoyed cooking, bringing meals to his co-workers, and every year on his birthday, he made ice cream for his co-workers. Left to cherish his memory are his mother Martha (Larry) Kirk, Ridgeway IA; Children: Christina (Michael) Ivery, Gilbert AZ, Paul (Madilyn) Stalcup, Iowa City, IA and Alexis Stalcup, Fort Madison IA; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Denai and Emma Ivery, Darian and Dean Stalcup; Siblings Shelly (Terry) Williams of Wilhoit, AZ, Shannon (Randy) Nagel of Burr Oak, IA and Wade (Adrian) Stalcup of Wickenburg, AZ and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends and his faithful dog, Oscar. He was proceeded in death by his father, Robert Stalcup; Grandparents Spencer & Theola (Phillips) Donner, Harold and Mary (Boughton) Stalcup.
