Theresa Harrison

Theresa (Terri) Harrison, 74, passed away on December 25, 2022, from a prolonged battle with COPD. Since moving to Decorah in 1982, Terri devoted her life to social and human services. She was an employment counselor, a hospice aide, and after completing her Masters Degree at the University of Iowa, an LISW. She became a practicing therapist focused on women’s health, including but not limited to, those suffering from domestic abuse and eating disorders. Through her unending generosity, her stalwart integrity, and strong sense of justice, she touched the lives of countless citizens and clients over the years. She worked tirelessly to improve the mental health of so many in this community and it is through these people, and our memory of her, that she will live on. Other hobbies and interests included analog photography, beads, vintage clothing, collecting art, and Dr. John. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Roger Harrison. She is survived by her first husband, Bruce Butters, and her son, Scott Butters. A celebration of her life will be held at Springwater Village at a later date yet to be determined.
