Terry Aswegan

Terry Aswegan, age 49, of Decorah, IA, died on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, August 24, 2012, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, with Rev. David Sorenson presiding. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00-4:00 p.m., on Friday, August 24, 2012, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, Decorah, IA. Terry Lynn Aswegan was born on February 4, 1963, the daughter of Richard and Orvetta (Halweg) Aswegan in Grand Forks, ND. Terry moved with her family to Decorah in 1975, and graduated from Decorah High School in 1982. She married Glen Jevne, and they later divorced. Terry worked at DECO Products for many years and had been cleaning at Hammel Jewelry and at Voltmer Electric, until her health forced her to quit in January. She enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. Terry was a member of the Decorah Lutheran Church. Terry is survived by her parents: Orvetta Aswegan, Decorah, IA, and Richard Aswegan, in Knoxville, IA, at his daughter’s home. One sister: Deb (Dennis) Dakin, Knoxville, IA. Two brothers: Richard Aswegan, Jr., Decorah, IA, and Steve (Kimberly) Aswegan, Calmar, IA. Five nieces and nephews: Tiffany Aswegan, Tabitha Aswegan, Travis Aswegan, Connor Dakin and Myla Dakin, along with several aunts and uncles. Terry was preceded in death by her brother: Randy Aswegan on March 12, 1987 and her sister: Sandy Aswegan Anderson on Oct. 30, 1999. Her grandparents: Glen & Neta Aswegan and Henry & Adeline Halweg.
