Tara Bennett

Tara Bennett, age 26, of Anamosa, Iowa, formerly of Decorah, Iowa, died on Saturday, September 27, 2008, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa, following injuries she received in an accident from a falling tree limb on September 19, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, October 2, 2008, at the Springfield Lutheran Church, south of Decorah, IA, by Jan King. Burial will be in the Springfield Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, IA, and after 10:00 a.m. at the church on Thursday morning. Tara Lynn Bennett was born on December 12, 1981, the daughter of Kevin and Barb (Hogenson) Bennett in Iowa City, Iowa. Tara was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein on February 21, 1982 and was confirmed on May 5, 1996 at the First Lutheran Church in Decorah. Tara attended Decorah Community Schools, Kirkwood Community College and DeVry University, working towards a business degree. Tara was a nurturing mother and her life revolved around her twin sons, Collin and Dylan. She enjoyed being social and enjoyed people. Tara’s survivors include her twin sons: Collin and Dylan Pasker. Her mother: Barb Bennett, Ridgeway, IA. Sister: Karla (David) Goertzen, Marion, IA. Half-brother: Lucas Bennett, West Union, IA. Grandparents: Edward & Evelyn Hogenson, Decorah, IA and Audrey Bennett, Hawkeye, IA. Aunts & Uncles: Becky & Darrell Sersland, Decorah, IA; Tom & Sarah Hogenson, Oskaloosa, IA; Terry & Theresa Hogenson, Muscatine, IA; Beth & Ken Koster, Centralia, MO; Robert & Darcy Bennett, Gainesville, GA; Sam & Betty Miller, Independence, IA; Beverly & Skip Baker, Elgin, IA; Marvin & Betty Bennett, Wellston, OK; Barbara & Paul Hyde, Austin, TX; Becky Bennett, Freeburg, MO; and Kirk Bennett, Yankton, SD, along with many cousins. Tara was preceded in death by her father: Kevin Bennett in 1988 and her grandfather: Doyle Bennett in 1985.
