Sarah Szabo, age 41, of Decorah, IA, died on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at her home. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2016, at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, Decorah, IA, with Rev. Matt Larson presiding. Friends may call from 4:00-6:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, and also after 12:00 Noon on Friday. Sarah is survived by her two children: Oliver and Hannah Gjere, and their father, Travis Gjere, Decorah, IA. Her parents: John and Shirley (Fenske) McKinley, Rochester, MN. One brother: William (Missy) McKinley, Dallas, TX. Maternal grandmother: Rosella Fenske, Cresco, IA. Aunts and Uncles: Michael McKinley, Muncie, IN; Jane (Ed) Gentry, Bluffton, IN; Julie Barr, Idaho, Linda Hovey, Cresco, IA; Betty (Allen) Leitz, Tomahawk, WI; Dale (Candy) Fenske, Protivin, IA; Barbara (Dale) Lickteig, Cresco, IA; Rick (Karen Start) Fenske, Ostrander, MN; Connie (Dale) Burnikel, Protivin, IA; Daniel Fenske, Charles City, IA, as well as fifteen cousins. Sarah is also survived by Travis’ parents, Steve and Denise Gjere, of Decorah, IA, and their children: Michelle, Pete, Randy, Chris, and Matt and their families.
