Ruth Logsdon

Ruth Logsdon, age 72, of Bluffton, Iowa died on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at her home following a long illness. Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, IA with Rev. Richard Simon Hanson officiating. The family will greet friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon at the funeral home. Ruth Johanna (Bergmann) Logsdon was born on May 29, 1932 the daughter of August and Beatrice (Saunders) Bergmann near Bluffton, Iowa. Ruth graduated from Decorah High School in 1950. Ruth worked for area families and married Jack Logsdon on August 15, 1951. Ruth worked for K & S Super Valu and Rockwell Collins, retiring in 1995. Ruth enjoyed sewing, reading and doing crossword puzzles. Ruth’s survivors include her three sons: John Logsdon & wife Terry, Ossian, IA; Randy Logsdon & wife Linda, Bluffton, IA and Scott Logsdon & wife Mary, Decorah, IA. Five grandchildren: Amy, Dustin, Megan, Cody and Lexi. Nine great grandchildren: Casey, Paige, Jordan, Luke, Landon, Riley, Carter, Chase, Parker and another great grandchild due in April. Two sisters: Marguerite Perkins & husband Walt, Loma, CA and Evelyn Hogenson & husband Ed, Decorah, IA. Two brothers: John Bergmann, Denver, IA and Marvin “Butch” Bergmann & wife Janice, Bluffton, IA and several nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack in 1973; three sisters: June Christopher, Kathleen Rakow and Marjorie Darling. One brother: Alvie Bergmann.
