Rose Tupy, age 89, of Fort Atkinson, IA died on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Wellington Place in Decorah, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 p.m., on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville with Rev. Robert Gross presiding, burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. With a prayer service at 3:30 and a rosary at 3:45. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville. There will also be visitation after 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning at the Church. Rose Theresa (Hageman) Tupy was born January 10, 1930 on the family farm near Calmar to Joseph F and Elizabeth (Kriener) Hageman. Rose was baptized and confirmed in her faith at St Aloysius Catholic Church and attended St. Aloysius Catholic School in Calmar, IA. She met the love of her life, Linus Tupy, during a dance at the Inwood Ballroom in Spillville IA. The two united in marriage on August 16 1950 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar by Rev. Peter J. Friedman. To this union they were blessed with seven children. Together they farmed west of Ft. Atkinson where Rose worked beside Linus daily. She enjoyed gardening and canning a variety of fruits and vegetables for her family. There was frequent baking of fresh homemade bread with kolaches and rohlichy being her specialty. Rose enjoyed embroidery and quilting, a good game of cards and listening to old time music. She was very proud of her embroidery and made sure every child and grandchild had some of her work to cherish. In the later years Linus and Rose enjoyed some traveling with Branson being their favorite place to visit, and attending sporting and fine arts events of their grandchildren. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus church and the ladies guild. In 2010, they moved to their home in Ft. Atkinson and in 2018 moved to the assisted living at Wellington place in Decorah. Rose is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, Linus. Four daughters: Norma (Jim) Coolidge, Eau Claire, WI; Judy (Joe) Kuisle, Rochester MN; Donna (Bruce) Meyer Goodhue, MN; and Sharon (David) Hackman Ft. Atkinson, IA. Two sons: Bob (Joan) Tupy, Calmar, IA and Gary Tupy, Ft. Atkinson, IA. Daughter-in-law Patty (Ron) Krivachek. Grandchildren: Adam (Sandy) Coolidge, James Tupy, Kimberly Tupy, Andrew (Kara) Kuisle, Louis (Amber) Kuisle, Conrad (Cortney) Kuisle and Jolene Kuisle, Justin (Nikki) Meyer, Allison (Mike) Bartlette, Lucas (Courtney) Meyer, Matt (Michelle) Tupy, Nicole Tupy, Lisa (Bryan Winther) Tupy, Dalton (Macey) Hackman, Cody Hackman, Chad (Jessica) Hackman and Shannon (Aaron) Hurd. Great-grandchildren: Emma, Hannah and Joshua Coolidge; Austin Tupy; Donovan (Hannah) Smith, Ethan Smith; Garrett and Piper Kuisle, Eva Kuisle; Kevin, Eric and Abigail Meyer, Madeline and Patrick Meyer, Axel Bartlette, Menae, Maddox, McKoda, Maysa and Myles Tupy, Jason and Preston Hurd.
