Rosalyn Lee

Rosalyn Lee, age 75, of Burr Oak, Iowa, died on Friday, November 20, 2009, at her home. A Time of Remembrance will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah. Rosalyn Maude (Reed) Lee was born on November 20, 1934, the daughter of Frank and Ethyl (Brown) Reed in Burr Oak, Iowa. Rosalyn attended school in Burr Oak and at the age of seven, moved with her family to Rock Island, Illinois. She later moved to California, where she attended college and married James E. Lee. Rosalyn was a stay-at-home mother, raising their four children. Rosalyn retired and returned to Burr Oak, to take care of her elderly father. Her hobbies included volunteering at the Laura Ingalls Museum and geneology. Rosalyn is survived by her four children: Michael J. (Bonnie) Lee, Fontana, CA; Diana Wood, Burr Oak, IA; Cheryl (Bruce) Nixon, Orcutt, CA; and Jeffrey (Gayle) Lee, Ontario, CA. Twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. One brother: Eldon (Paula) Reed, Oelwein, IA. One uncle: Carroll Jacobsen, Decorah, IA, along with several other aunts, uncles and cousins. Rosalyn was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Ethyl Reed. One son-in-law: Gary Wood in 1998. Condolences may be sent in care of Diana Wood, 2433 Co. Road A18, Decorah, IA 52101.
