Roland "Rollie" Grotegut

     Roland “Rollie” Grotegut, age 87, of Decorah, IA died Saturday, March 26, 2016 at his home in Decorah, IA.      Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at the Zion United Church of Christ, 113 First Street N.E., in Waukon, IA with Pastor Samantha Houser presiding. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Waukon, IA.      Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, from 4:00-6:00 p.m., at the Schluter –Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, Decorah, IA, and also after 1:30 p.m., Wednesday afternoon at the Zion United Church of Christ.      Roland is survived by his wife: Hazel Grotegut, Decorah, IA. One daughter: Judith Grotegut Robinson, Decorah, IA. One grandson: Travis Robinson, Redmond, WA. Three step-daughters: Deb Haberkorn, Eureka, MN; Connie (Mike) Sabbann, Woodbury, MN; and Denise Thorson, Rochester, MN. Nine step-grandchildren: Matt (Sheri) Haberkorn, Todd (Val) Haberkorn, Eric (Fatimah) Haberkorn, Luke Sabbann, Leslie Sabbann, David Sabbann, Laura (Adam) Kramer, Brad (Nina) Webles and Tom (Anne) Webles. Nine great grandchildren: Isaac, Anna & Nathan Haberkorn, John, Mark & Eden Haberkorn, Maddy, Allie and Charlie Kramer. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Audrey Angel, Waukon, IA; Carolyn Grotegut, Bettendorf, IA; Harriet Onsager, Hastings, MN; Nadine (Dave) Siems, Fergus Falls, MN; and Neal (Vicki) Telford, Des Moines, IA.      Rollie was preceded in death by his parents: Simon and Lydia (Rolfs) Grotegut. His first wife: Dorrene Nolting Grotegut on Jan. 30, 1986. Two brothers: Leonard Grotegut and Ralph Grotegut. One sister: Virginia (Ordell) Bjerke. One step-son-in-law: Gary Haberkorn in 2011. One brother-in-law: Oscar Onsager. His father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ruben and Esther Nolting.
