Robert "R.D." Reque

Robert D. “R.D.” Reque, age 91, of Decorah, died Wednesday morning, December 10, 2014 at Wellington Place in Decorah. Private Family Graveside Services will be held at Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah, in the spring of 2015. Robert David Reque was born November 19, 1923 in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Professor Sigurd S. and Caroline (Bye) Reque. R.D. was a quiet man and enjoyed his parents and family, their gatherings, woodworking and carpentry. He worked at Luther College for about 20 years, in maintenance and as a custodian at the library. He loved to go to Mabe’s Pizza for lunch and enjoyed walking all around Decorah. R.D. was a long time resident at Wellington Place. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Soreide and Elizabeth Vandervort; and one brother, Sigurd E. Reque. R.D. is survived by a niece, Virginia Burns of York, PA and a nephew, John Reque of Mountain Home, AR.
