Robert (Bob) Ludeking, age 67, of Decorah, IA, died on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2022, at the Washington Prairie Lutheran Church, 1725 Washington Prairie Rd. In rural Decorah with Rev. Jennifer Edinger presiding. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2022, at the church and also after 10:00 a.m. Monday morning. Robert Ludeking was born on September 6, 1954, in Janesville, Wisconsin to Gale and Helen (Buerger) Ludeking. He graduated from Decorah High School with the class of 1973. Bob worked in a variety of occupations during his life. Farming, custom silage bagging, and working on a barge were some of his favorite jobs. Bob loved being outdoors. Fishing, hunting and just sitting around a campfire made for a perfect day for him. He enjoyed riding horses during his younger days. He was like a big kid-he liked to have fun! Bob was a people person. He would talk to anyone and was always genuinely interested in what they had to say. Everyone has a “Bob” story. Bob is survived by his 3 sons: Matthew, Luke and Corey. Stepchildren: Elisha (Dave) Forde, Clint Ludeking, and Elizabeth (Jon) Halverson. One grandchild: Colton and 10 step grandchildren. Mother: Helen Ludeking. Brothers: Jason (Michiko) Ludeking and James (Martha) Ludeking. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as hundreds of friends. He was preceded in death by his father Gale Ludeking. Grandson: Brady Edwards. Step grandson: Abel Ludeking and several aunts, uncles, cousins and his grandparents.
