Richard Stuckman

Richard Stuckman, age 96, of Decorah, IA passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Aase Haugen Senior Services in Decorah. There will be no formal services for Richard. He will be buried in Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery. Richard Fredrick Stuckman was born on September 10, 1925 in Union Prairie Township, the only child of Eda Koening and Wilhelm Fredrick Stuckman. Richard married Ethel Dinger on October 5, 1958 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Richard was a member of Decorah Lutheran Church. He was buried in a private family service at Salem Cemetery in Waukon. Richard was a custodian for Decorah Schools for 25 years and substituted for an additional 12 years. Ethel and Richard lived on an acreage on Haugen Hill Rd where they always had a big garden. He especially enjoyed fishing, antique car shows and ol’ time music. In retirement, Richard enjoyed going to the boat and weekly early morning breakfast with buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law; David and Susan Willig, Grinnell, Iowa; 4 grandchild, Jacob Willig-Onwuachi and wife Angela Onwuachi-Willig, Boston, Massachusetts; Isaac and wife Laurel Willig, Kansas City, Missouri; Chantana (Willig) and Adam Struckman of Lewisburg, West Virginia and Petrina (Willig) and Collin McKamy, Schertz, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren: Elijah, Bethany and Solomon Willig and Silas and Saul Willig and Jordan, Noah and Wesley Struckman and Milam and Freya McKamy; and long-time neighbors and special friends Stan (deceased) and Marlys Lensing and their children Dale and Lisa and their families.
