Regi Klimesh

Regina “Regi” Klimesh, age 89, of Calmar, IA, died Friday, October 25, 2013, at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, IA. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 304 South Maryville Calmar, IA, with Rev. Donald Hawes presiding. There will be no visitation. A rosary will be said at 10:45 a.m., Tuesday morning at the church. The Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, French Chapel in Calmar is handling the arrangements. Regina Mathilda Bily Klimesh was born September 28, 1924, the daughter of Joseph and Mathilda (Taylor) Bily, on the farm home a quarter mile west of Spillville, Iowa. She was the oldest of four children with brothers: Fred, Stan, and Robert. Regi attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and two years of high school in Spillville, finishing the other years and graduating from Calmar High School. During World War II, she worked on the assembly line of Nesco, in Milwaukee, making casings for fifteen millimeter shells. On April 23, 1946, she married Godfrey Klimesh in Spillville, IA. To this union four children were born: William, Robert, Patricia, and David. In 1965, she went to work for Klimesh Motor Sales as a bookkeeper for twenty-four years. She retired in 1990. In her earlier years she was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, Decorah Deanery Council of Catholic Women, St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. She was also a den mother for the Cub Scouts. Over the years, Regi made and gave away her delicious toffee and was always willing to pray the rosary for all. Regi’s survivors include her daughter: Patricia (John) Stellflue, LaCrosse WI. Three sons: William Klimesh, Calmar, IA; Robert (Connie) Klimesh, Calmar, IA and David (Becky) Klimesh, Waucoma, IA. Eight grand-children: Timothy (Susan) Stellflue, Shayna Stellflue, Andrew Klimesh, Kelsey (Edward) Allendes, Allison and RaeAnn Klimesh, Alicia and Maria Klimesh Two great-grandchildren Presley and Easton Stellflue. Two brothers: Fritz (Lorraine) Bily, Omaha, NE, and Robert (Ruth) Bily, Spillville, IA. One brother-in-law: Cyril Klimesh, Grants Pass, OR. Regi was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph (Mathilda) Bily. Her husband: Godfrey 1995. Two brothers: Donnie Bily in infancy and Stanley (Eileen) Bily. Brother and sisters-in-law: Robert (Arzella) Klimesh, Charles (Anna) Klimesh, Otilia (Mark) Walsh, Sidonia (Alvin) Klimesh, Celestine (Helen) Klimesh, Emil (Marcella) Klimesh and Irene Klimesh.
