Ray Ransom

     Ray Ransom, age 71, of Decorah, IA, died on Sunday, June 14, 2015, on his farm near Decorah.        Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 18, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church, 302 West Broadway, Decorah, with Rev. John Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in the Canoe Methodist Cemetery, rural Decorah, Iowa.           Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue in Decorah, and also after 12:00 Noon at the church on Thursday.      Ray is survived by his wife: Pam Ransom, Decorah, IA. Five children: Steven (Kathy) Ransom, Decorah, IA, and their children, Justin, Andrew (April) Ransom and Nicole Ransom; Robert (Blair) Ransom, Ringwood, NJ, and their son, John Ransom; Christopher (Lisa) Ransom, Brandon, MS, and their children: Brittany, Hunter, Jack and Miller Ransom; Douglas Ransom, Decorah, IA, and his children: Stella, Greta and Gus Ransom; and Jennifer (Brad) Horton, Robins, IA, and their children: Jacob, Lucas and Rachel Horton. Two sisters: Donna Arndt and Roberta (Dick) McCann, both of Janesville, WI. One sister-in-law: Karen (Don) Berg, Milton, WI. One brother-in-law: Terry (Anna) Parr, Juno, FL, along with several nieces and nephews.      Ray was preceded in death by his parents: Robert H. and Marjorie (Howard) Ransom. His father-in-law and mother-in-law: Leo and Harriett (Maylord) Parr. Two brothers-in-law: Bill Arndt and Kurt Wier.
