Ramona A. Peterson

Ramona A. Peterson, age 76, of Decorah, Iowa, died Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at Oneota Riverview Care Facility in Decorah. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Decorah, by Rev. Gary F. Krapfl, with private inurnment in Madison Lutheran Cemetery, rural Decorah. There will be no visitation. Fjelstul Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Ramona A. Peterson was born January 2, 1930 in Calmar, Iowa, the daughter of Leo and Alvina Hein. Ramona was united in marriage with Ove Marion Kenneth Peterson on April 30, 1949 at First Lutheran Church in Decorah, Iowa. To this union, one daughter was born: Cindy. Ramona was a homemaker and also provided babysitting services at her home. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Decorah. She liked working on puzzle books in her spare time and enjoyed playing computer games. Ramona became a resident of the Oneota Riverview Care Facility on July 24, 1991. She died at the Facility on Tuesday, September 5, 2006. Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Bigler of Galivants Ferry, South Carolina; a special friend, John Kane of Decorah; a sister-in-law, Inez Viste of Decorah and several nieces and nephews. Ramona was preceded in death by her parents and, her husband Ove on May 7, 1981; a brother; a sister and two half brothers.
