Paul Stoskopf, age 82, of Decorah, IA, died on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Arbor Terrace Assisted Living in Rochester, MN. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Decorah Lutheran Church, 309 Winnebago Street, Decorah, IA, with Rev. Brenda Crossfield presiding. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday morning. Paul David Stoskopf was born on March 6, 1935, the son of Vernon and Bessie (Foltz) Stoskopf on the family farm north of Decorah, IA. Paul was baptized and confirmed at the Decorah Lutheran Church. Paul attended Decorah Community School and served in the US Army from 1957-59 in Germany. Paul married Beverly Treangen on June 19, 1965, at the Decorah Lutheran Church in Decorah, IA. Together they farmed north of Decorah and worked for Surge Dairy Products, Camcar, and at the Eastern Star Home in maintenance. Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing; going with his sons to Canada to fish. He was an avid Hawkeye fan and enjoyed playing cards. He was a member of the Decorah Lutheran Church. Paul is survived by his wife: Beverly Stoskopf, Rochester, MN. Five children: Laurie Stoskopf, Rochester, MN; Vernon (Dee) Stoskopf, Detroit Lakes, MN; Virgil (Teresa) Stoskopf, Kasson, MN; Jason Stoskopf, Hermantown, MN; and Justin Stoskopf, West Branch, IA. Two granddaughters: Ella Stoskopf, Kasson, MN and Hayden Stoskopf, West Branch, IA. Four step-grandchildren: Amy (Jake) Hanson, Sasha (Derek) Holme, Forest St. Mane, and Tanner St. Mane. Seven step great-grandchildren: Ethan, Tayvin and Cooper, Colton and Piper, Lily and Blake. One sister: Jacquelyn Grayburn, Holman, WI. One brother: Ronald (Marcia) Stoskopf, Decorah, IA. Paul was preceded in death by his parents: Vernon and Bessie (Foltz) Stoskopf. His father and mother-in-law: Clifford and Ione (Wiste) Treangen. One brother: Verl (Frannie) Stoskopf. One sister-in-law: Carol Treangen. Brother-in-law: Bill Grayburn.
