Patricia Gerlich

Patricia Gerlich, age 82, of Ossian, formerly of Calmar, Iowa passed away on September 7, 2023, at Northgate Care Center, Waukon, Iowa. Patricia was born in Decorah on March 25,1941 to Lyle and Eva (Hawkins) Hunter. She grew up in Ossian and Calmar, and finished her schooling at Calmar High School. After school she lived in Calmar working as a waitress, and later moved to Des Moines to working as a waitress in numerous places. She enjoyed working in her yard with her plants and flowers, visiting with her neighbor and friend Mary, and going to races with her friend Ray Hill. She is survived by two sons: Robert (Lisa) Guttormson Jr. of Calmar, IA, and Doug (Laurie) Day of Wilmington, IL. Granddaughter Aubree, great-grandchildren Kaden and Kinley, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Debra Guttormson, sister Helen Herold, brother John Hunter Sr., nephew Nathan and friend Ray Hill. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023, at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Calmar with Pastor Daryl Thompson presiding.
