Norman Mikkelson

Norman Mikkelson, age 72, of Decorah, IA, died on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at the Regional Health Services of Howard County in Cresco, IA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 22, 2011, at the First Lutheran Church in Decorah, IA, with Rev. Marion Pruitt-Jefferson presiding. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Decorah, IA. Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m., on Thursday at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, IA, and also after 10:00 a.m., at the church on Friday morning. Norman is survived by his wife: Carolyn Mikkelson, Decorah, IA. One daughter: Lisa (Donal) Craine, Carver, MN. Two sons: Eric (Ann) Mikkelson, Salina, KS; and Marc (Jennifer) Mikkelson, Decorah, IA. Seven grandchildren: Dolan Craine; Anders, Alyssa & Lauryn Mikkelson; Colten, Sarah & Rachel Mikkelson. Two sisters: Geraldine (Lee) Charles, Las Vegas, NV; and Lois (Nate) Marty, Madison, WI. Brothers and sisters-in-law: LeRoy (Bernice) Vick, Marion, IA; Roger (Randi) Vick, Caledonia, MN; Ronald Vick, Prairie du Chien, WI; Darrell Vick, Decorah, IA; Curtis (Jan) Vick, Decorah, IA; and Marcella (David) Tveter, Rosemount, MN, along with many nieces and nephews. Norman was preceded in death by his parents: Lauritz “Mike” and Laura (Gerhardson) Mikkelson.
