Norma Lundy

Norma Lundy, age 75, of Decorah, IA, died on Monday, August 7, 2017 at her home. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at the church on Friday morning Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 11, 2017, at the Decorah Lutheran Church with Rev. Brenda Crossfield presiding. Burial will be in the Springwater Cemetery, Decorah, Iowa. Norma Mae (Barth) Lundy was born on August 8, 1941 the daughter of Grant and Vivian (Erickson) Barth in rural Winneshiek County. She graduated from Decorah High School in 1959. Norma married Dale Lundy on November 29, 1959 at the First Lutheran Church in Decorah, IA. They had two daughters: Suzanne and Krisanne. Together Norma and Dale ran the A&W Root Beer stand in Decorah. After selling that business they moved to Cedar Rapids. Upon returning, she went to work with her mom at Ronnie’s Café in Decorah. Norma later worked for Dr. Dynes as a Physicians Assistant for twenty-nine years at the Decorah Clinic. She retired in 1997. After retirement, she and Dale bought and sold many houses in Decorah, Rochester and Florida. She loved to decorate and remodel each house. Norma enjoyed going to rummage sales and finding things to decorate with. She enjoyed traveling to Florida with Dale in the winters and loved spending time with her family. Norma is survived by her husband Dale. Two children: Suzanne (Lyle) Taylor, Spring Valley, MN; Krisanne (Craig) Nelson, Rochester, MN. Grandchildren: Michael, Nicholas and Megan Taylor and Alexis Nelson. Three brothers: Daryl (Shelley) Barth, Jacksonville, FL; Duane Barth, Lansing, IA; and Terry Barth, Decorah, IA. Nieces and Nephews: Andrea Barth, Sara (Brad) Anderson, Kari (Kurt) Muchow, Richelle Halverson, Dana (Mark) Carolan, Brent (Jill) Halverson and Joel (Cyndi) Halverson. Brother-in-law: Duane Lundy, Des Moines IA Norma was preceded in death by her parents: Grant and Vivian Barth. Brothers: Otis, Gary and Glen Barth. Mother and father-in-law: Walter and Gladys (Olson) Lundy. Sister-in-law: Donna Halverson.
