Noel Henry

Noel Henry, age 63, of Decorah, Iowa, died on Sunday, March 5, 2006 at the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin following a short illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Krapfl officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and on Thursday morning until 10:30 a.m. at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home. There will be a rosary at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Noel Roger Henry was born on December 24, 1942 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa and was adopted by Jim and Mary (Cronin) Henry. Noel attended St. Francis DeSales Catholic School in Ossian and graduated from South Winn High School in 1961. He worked for the Iowa Dept. of Transportation for ten years and then operated Henry Tree Service for many years. He married Donna Alden on September 11, 1965 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Decorah, and to this union, five children were born. They later divorced. Noel enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing and country music. Noel’s survivors include his mother, Mary Henry, Decorah, IA; Two sons: Darin (Deb) Henry, Calmar, IA and Scott Henry, Dodge Center, MN. Two daughters: Kathy (Rob) Teff, Calmar, IA and Kristine (David) Krivachek, West Union, IA. Six grandchildren: Robbie, Heather, Bryce and Kaitlin Teff; Kendra Henry and Kiley Krivachek. Two sisters: Martha (Larry) Martinson, Decorah, IA and Sue (Bill) Gerard, Davenport, IA. One brother: Joe (Marian) Henry, Decorah, IA and several nieces and nephews. Noel was preceded in death by his father, Jim Henry on April 6, 1999 and one son, Kevin Henry on May 14, 1997.
