Nancy A. Dolan, age 59, died suddenly of natural causes Monday, August 6, 2007 at her home in Decorah. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, August 11, 2007 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Decorah with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Friday at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah. Nancy Angela Dolan was born March 12, 1948 in Anamosa, Iowa the daughter of Dr. Robert and Angela (Shekleton) Dolan. She attended St. Benedict grade school in Decorah and graduated from St. Francis De Sales Catholic High School in Ossian with the Class of 1967. She attended Area I Vocational College in Calmar to study interior design. She was united in marriage with Gary Zidlicky on April 13, 1973 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Decorah. This union was blessed with two children: Lisa Marie and Michael Milton. Nancy worked as a certified nurse’s assistant for many years in Decorah. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed watching all the games. She liked to dance and go out for coffee and dinner with her special friend Carroll Jacobson. Survivors include her two children, Lisa (Tony) Myers and a future grandchild, of Riceville, IA; and Michael Zidlicky of Burr Oak, IA; a special friend, Carroll Jacobson of Burr Oak, IA; one brother, Kerry (Pat) Dolan of Decorah, IA; two sisters, Maureen Dolan of Boulder, CO and Ellen Dolan of New York City, NY; two nieces, Emily Begin and Angela Dolan Jeffrey; one nephew, Matthew Bodo; and two aunts, JoAnn Shekleton and Marcelle LaMonte. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Michael Dolan in 1965 and Thomas Dolan in 2002.
