Mildred "Millie" Knopf

       Mildred “Millie” Knopf, age 98, of Decorah, IA, died on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at the Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah, IA.      Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2014, at the Decorah Lutheran Church, 309 Winnebago Street, Decorah, IA, with Rev. Dave Sorenson and Rev. Bryan Robertson presiding. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery, Decorah, IA.      Friends may call after 10:00 a.m., on Friday, November 14, 2014, at the Decorah Lutheran Church, 309 Winnebago Street, Decorah, IA. The Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah is in charge of arrangements.      Mildred is survived by her two daughters: Norma Jane Smith, Decorah, IA, and Karen (Gary) Fairchild, Decorah, IA. Four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren: Sue (Jay) Dansdill, Larry (Millie) Vine, Dan (Jean) Henry, Daren (Laura) Henry, Scott (Jo) Fairchild and Steven (Erin) Fairchild, along with fifteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.      Millie was preceded in death by her parents: Julius and Helga (Kirkeby) Kallevang. Her husband: David Knopf. One son-in-law: Denny Smith. Her father and mother-in-law: David and Emma Knopf. One brother: Jim (Ruth) Kallevang. One sister: Helen Davis. Three sisters-in-law: Martha Hewitt, Alice Jagerson, and Elsie Breitsprecher. Three brothers-in-law: Paul Knopf, Walter Knopf and Harold Anderson.
