Michael S. Davis

Michael S. Davis, age 57, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, died peacefully at home on Thursday, October 18, 2007 following a courageous battle with liver cancer. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7:00 P.M. Monday, October 22, 2007 at the Church of Christ the King, 5029 Zenith Avenue South, Minneapolis with Graveside Services and Burial at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery in Decorah. Friends may call after 5 P.M. Monday at the church in Minneapolis. Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah is in charge of local arrangements. Mike was a thirty four year employee of the City of Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board serving as Supervisor of Equipment Operations. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Keefe Davis of Minneapolis; two daughters, Lisa and her husband Masin Soltani of Reno, NV and Lori and her husband Darin Pearson of Rosemount, MN; two grandchildren, Ariel and Jacob; an aunt Lorraine and her husband Donald Long of Indianola, IA; a cousin, Lissa Gelden of Bovey, MN; his father and mother-in-law, Judge Joseph C. and Lola Keefe of Decorah; a sister-in-law, Mary K. and her husband Michael K. Grove of Roswell, GA; and two nephews, Michael J. and Matthew J. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie and Norman Davis and a cousin, Leonard Gelden.
