Marjorie Schwinefus, age 84, of Decorah, IA, died on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Wellington Place in Decorah, IA Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at the Decorah Lutheran Church, with Rev. Peter Kowitz presiding. Burial will be in the Stavanger Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m., until the time of service at the church on Tuesday morning. Cards may be sent to the family at: 711 Carol St., Eau Claire, WI 54703 Marjorie Evelyn (Wells) Schwinefus was born on January 26, 1937 the daughter of Bernyl and Adele (Leik) Wells in West Union, IA. She graduated from West Union High School. Marjorie married Wayne Schwinefus on April 17, 1955 at Stavanger Lutheran Church. She worked at a department store in Decorah for a few years before she and Wayne purchased a farm north of Decorah where she lovingly raised her boys. Marjorie took a job as a cook at North Winneshiek School and later took the job as head cook at Luther College. After she retired from Luther, Marjorie helped Wayne with his lawn mowing business until they were no longer able to do it. She enjoyed reading and cooking & baking for her loved ones. Nobody left her home hungry. Everyone who knew Marjorie was blessed by her thoughtfulness, generosity, and the cards she sent. She never missed your Birthday! Marjorie is survived by her husband: Wayne. Children: Jeff (Renee) Schwinefus, West Salem, WI and John (Becky) Schwinefus, Eau Claire, WI. Grandchildren: Amber (Marc) Utecht, April (Erik) Mathison, Andria (Sam) Hasz, Diondray (Aubrie) Premo, Alec Schwinefus, Austin Schwinefus and Kaleb Schwinefus. Great grandchildren: Dylan Utecht, Dylan Patchen, Avree Patchen, Jordan Mathison, Landon Hasz, Brianna Hasz, Draike Hasz and Braylon Premo. Sisters-in-law: Jean Wells, Sumner, IA and LaVonne Anfinson, Ossian, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents: Bernyl and Adele (Leik) Wells. Siblings: Derwood Wells and his first wife Patty and second wife Darlene; Darrel Wells, Marlene (Russell) Ungerer, Janeen Schott. Father and mother-in-law: William and Olivia (Hegland) Schwinefus. Sisters and brother-in-law: Verla (Ray) Schara, Donna (Charles) Schara, Phyllis (Emery) Leffler, Kermit Anfinson.
