Marjorie Marie Phillips, 93, from Wadena, Iowa went to walk beside Jesus on Friday April 15th at the Good Samaritan Center, West Union, Iowa where she was surrounded by family. Her funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022, at the Wadena Community Church – 301 South Mill St., with Pastor Rusty Phillips officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Friday morning. Born March 7, 1929, the daughter of Myron and Velma Shepperd of Fayette Iowa. She was the 4th of seven children. She attended school at the Fayette Community schools. In November of 1960 she married John Phillips of Wadena. They had three boys, Rusty Blaine, Christopher Robin, and Travis Gail. They were later divorced, and Marge made her home on West Herriman Street in Wadena. Her five grandchildren were the jewels in Marge's crown. She spent as much time with them as she could. As her grandkids grew up, she enjoyed 'adopting' the Weber boys into her fold too. She also enjoyed a trailer on the river even when the fish weren't biting. She was a long-time member of the Wadena Community Church and the Wadena Yacht Club. Visiting with neighbors and friends brought her much joy. Left to mourn her passing are her sons Rusty (Sandy) Phillips, Elgin, Iowa, and Travis (Stephanie) Phillips, Oelwein, Iowa; her four grandchildren, Chelsy (Tim) Reed, Iowa City, Iowa, Tyler (Sara) Phillips, Volga City, Iowa, Dakota (Katie Jo) Phillips, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin and Kolby Phillips, Wadena, Iowa; and three great grand daughters, Elizabeth, Kennedy, and Fiona; one brother, Clinton of New Hampshire; nieces, Susan Tjernagel and Randa Burkhead; nephew, Leo Chase and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Christopher, granddaughter Kelly, grandson Andrew, a great grandchild, and all five sisters, Galen, Leona, Francis, Kathrine and Penny. Special Thanks to the staff at Good Samaritan Center and St. Croix Hospice, Strawberry Point, Iowa.
