Marjorie Forde

      Marjorie Forde, age 73, of Decorah, IA, died early Friday morning, May 16, 2014, at the Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah, IA.       Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2014, at the Big Canoe Lutheran Church, 1381 Big Canoe Road, rural Decorah, with Rev. Allen Vik presiding.       Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 21, at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, IA, and also after 12:00 noon at the Church on Thursday.       Marjorie Lauretta (Allen) Forde was born on July 31, 1940 the daughter of Lester and Lillian (Newgard) Allen in Spring Grove, MN. Marjorie was baptized and confirmed at the Hesper Lutheran Church. She was united in marriage to Arlan Forde on November 1, 1958 and they had two daughters, Arlene and Audrey. Together they milked Jersey cows and raised feeder pigs. Marjorie worked for years at Northern Engraving in Waukon, and other part time jobs. Marjorie received her GED later in life. Marjorie had many interests: taking photos, collecting cookbooks, and doing drawings and crafts. Marjorie was a member of the Big Canoe Lutheran Church.      Marjorie is survived by her husband: Arlan Forde, Decorah, IA. Her father: Lester Allen, Decorah, IA. Two daughters: Arlene (Rick) Boynton, Eyota, MN, and Audrey (Larry) Cleveland, Lime Springs, IA. As well as three half-brothers: Bobby, David and Tom Stedman, all of Rockford, IL. Eleven grandchildren: Dustin (Andrea) Klimesh, Bryce (Natasha) Boynton, Bryant Boynton, Brandon (Amanda) Boynton, Ben Boynton, Breanna (Randy McClintock) Blegen, Chrysta (Jason) Steinlage, Heather (Tim) Alden, Eric (Mindy) Boynton, Brad (Dawn) Boynton and Dave (Sara) Cleveland, and eighteen great grandchildren.      Marjorie was preceded in death by her mother: Lillian Stedman.
