Marie Brincks

     Marie Brincks, age 91 , of Ossian, IA died Friday, October, 2, 2015, at the Ossian Senior Hospice in Ossian, IA.      Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 420 East Main Street, in Ossian, IA with Father Alan Dietzenbach presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.      Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian and also after 10:00 at the church on Wednesday      Marie Anna (Hageman) Brincks was born on March 24, 1924, the daughter of August and Theresa (Schmitt) Hageman on the family farm near Calmar, IA. Marie attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Festina. On October 12, 1943, she was united in marriage to Clarence Brincks at St. Aloysius Church in Calmar. To this union, nine children were born: Shirley, Bernice, Larry, Don, Marilyn, Joann, Dennis, Randy and Lyle. Together they farmed the Brincks family farm near Calmar until 1975 when they moved to a farm east of Ossian. They retired in 1983 and moved to Ossian. Marie has been a resident at the Ossian Senior Hospice for the past five years. Marie was a loving mother and very fond of family. She treated everyone she met as a friend. She especially was fond of children and they always brought a twinkle to her eyes. Her smiles, laughter and sense of humor will be missed. Marie and Clarence enjoyed traveling and dancing. She loved to crochet, garden, quilt and play cards. Marie was a member of St Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian. Her strong faith gave her strength in her final days. She died peacefully surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.      Marie’s survivors include her nine children: Shirley (Lester) Frana - Hageman, Calmar, IA; Bernice (Vern) Dietzenbach, Fort Atkinson, IA; Larry (Inez) Brincks, Decorah, IA; Don (Nancy) Brincks, Calmar, IA; Marilyn (Dennis) Holthaus, Ossian, IA; Joann (Dean) Franzen, Elkader, IA; Dennis (Janice) Brincks, Postville, IA; Randy (Mary) Brincks, Ossian, IA and Lyle (Laura) Brincks, Ossian, IA, along with twenty eight grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Marie’s siblings: Helen Dietzenbach, Ossian, IA; Eugene Hageman, Decorah, IA; Delbert Hageman Decorah, IA; and Robert (Joann) Hageman, Decorah, IA, Sisters-in-law: Dolores Hageman, Cresco, IA, Joyce Hageman, Ossian, IA, and Ann Hageman, Calmar, IA, along with many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.      Marie was preceded in death by her husband; Clarence Brincks on August 3, 2003. Her parents: August Hageman on Dec. 5, 1972 and Theresa (Schmitt) Hageman on Jan. 26, 1992. Two great granddaughters: Isabella Neill and Taylor Brincks. Son-in-law: Vernon Frana. Her father–in-law and mother-in-law: Herman (Pauline Weber) Brincks, brothers: August Hageman Jr., Louis Hageman, Leonard Hageman, Francis Hageman and Cornelius Hageman in infancy. Brothers and sisters-in-law: Frances Hageman, Francis Dietzenbach, Patricia Hageman, Ray (Hildegard) Brincks, Rose (Laverne) (Adam) Nagel Meyer, Mary (Herman) Bullerman, Ralph (Olivia) Holthaus, and Theresa (Louis) Bullerman.
