Margaret Gossling

Margaret Gossling, age 84 of Fort Atkinson, IA passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Copper Creek Assisted Living in West Union, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 6, 2020 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Little Turkey at 3303-1160th St. Lawler, IA with Father Nick Radloff presiding, burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the church. Everyone attending is asked to please wear a mask. Memorials may be sent to her daughter: Janet Houdek, PO Box 302, Calmar, IA 52132 Margaret Barbara (Langreck) Gossling was born on July 11, 1936 the daughter of John and Magdalena “Lena” (Mihm) Langreck in West Union, IA. She graduated from St. Lukes Catholic School in St. Lucas. Margaret married Martin Gossling on April 7, 1956 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in St. Lucas. Together they raised seven children and farmed together for many years in the Ossian and Waucoma areas. Margaret also worked as a nurse aid for many years before eventually becoming a dietary manager at Oneota Care facility until retiring in 2006. Margaret enjoyed baking and gardening but most of all, loved babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Rosary Society, Catholic daughters and the Jackson Homemakers. Margaret is survived by her children: Steve Gossling, Waucoma, IA Janet (Steve) Houdek, Calmar, IA, Ken (Connie) Gossling, Waucoma, IA Joe Gossling, Lawler, IA Kevin (Lori) Gossling, Calmar, IA Sue (Duane) Cushion, Maynard, IA and Scott (Stacey) Gossling, Decorah, IA. Grandchildren: Dan Houdek, Jon (Jamie) Houdek, Kristi (Devin ) Creek, Kelly (Ben) Kuennen, Casey (Derek) Rausch, Dayna (Kyle) Soukup, Ryan Gossling, Chad Gossling, Alicia (Scott) Baumler, Nick (Friend Teressa) Gossling, Chloe Gossling, Great Grandchildren: Emma, Liam, Gabe, Mitch, Kayla, Austin, Ava, Annika, Greta, Oliver, Jayden, Kinzey, Kortlynn, Eli, Annora, Aphelia and Charlotte. Sisters: Virginia Kuhn, Edna Jirak, Agatha Busta, Lillian Chipera. Brothers: Jerry Langreck, Charles (Mildred) Langreck, Clem Langreck. Brother-in-law: Norbert (Darlene) Gossling.
