Marcella Green

Marcella Green, age 87, of Decorah (formerly of Cascade), Iowa, died on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Wellington Place in Decorah, IA. There will be a private graveside service at Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, but no funeral or visitation. Online condolences may be shared at schluterbalikfuneralhome.com. Cards and memorials may be sent to Jim Green, 905 Woodland Ave, Riceville, IA 50466 Marcella was born to Frank and Frances Gesing, September 7, 1932, and grew up on a farm near Festina, Iowa. She graduated from Calmar High School. She worked at Bishop’s in Cedar Rapids for many years. Marcella married John "Bob" Green in 1980 and they farmed near Sand Springs and then near Scotch Grove, until their retirement in 2006, when they moved to Cascade. One of her greatest passions was collecting antiques. She is survived by a brother, Charles (Anita) Gesing of Owasso OK, and her step-children, Jim (Doris) Green of Riceville IA, Beth (Bruce) Lorch of Ocheyedan IA, Pat (Cliff) Carey of Decorah IA, Mary (Jeff) Gray of Great Falls MT, and Jane Tiedt of Cheney WA, and 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Frances Gesing, and her husband John Green.
