Magdalen"Maggie" Numedahl

Magdalen Numedahl, age 91, of Calmar, IA died Thursday August 22, 2013 at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a. m., Monday August 26, 2013 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar, IA, with Rev. Donald Hawes presiding. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Aase Haugen Home or Winneshiek Co. Hospice. Visitation will be from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m., Sunday at the Schluter Balik Funeral Home, French Chapel in Calmar, IA. There will also be visitation Monday after 10:00 a.m. at the church. Magdalen "Maggie" Catherine Numedahl was born on July 1, 1922, the daughter of Herman and Amelia (Eimers) Bullerman on the family farm south of Calmar. Maggie attended St Mary Catholic School in Festina, IA. Maggie married Raymond Numedahl on September 12, 1942 at St Aloysius in Calmar. They raised five children, Karen , Ronald, Cheryl, Robert and Randall. They farmed until Raymond died on May 31, 1973. Maggie continued farming with her sons until she moved to Calmar in 1978. Maggie entered the Aase Haugen home on July 12, 2004. Maggie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother Maggie enjoyed cooking and baking, playing cards and bingo. She always wanted to know what was happening on the farm. But most of all she enjoyed being with her family Maggie is survived by Karen (Paul) Skrypek, Cheryl Hageman, Robert (Joyce) Numedahl , Randy Numedahl and Daughter-in-law Marleen Numedahl. Eleven grandchildren: Kathy (Troy) Kelsey, Jay (Laura) Skrypek, Kirstie (Jim) Bower, Jeffrey (Ellen) Numedahl, Jill Sallis, June (Tony) Kronenberger Alan (Jody) Hageman, Myra (Rick) Schnuelle, Marty (Amy) Hageman, Rodney Numedahl and Richard (Christie) Numedahl. Six step grandchildren: Cody, Shanna, Dalton, Garrett, Brittany and Lindsey. Sixteen great grandchildren: Dane, Ryan, Johnathan, Emily, Rachel, Hailey, Ashlee, Alex, Allyiah, Andrew, Kayla, Kelsey, Kolin, Kayden, Adrian and Cashton. Three step great grandchildren: Carter, Ryker and Dorothy. Maggie was preceded death by her parents: her husband: Raymond, son: Ronald on November 13, 2011, son-in-law: Dale Hageman on February 10, 2010, four sisters: Frances (Andrew) Timp, Bernadine (Rudy) Schrandt, Irene (Julius) Hageman and Leona ( Myrle) Larson. Two brothers: Adolph (Winifred) Bullerman and Edwin ( Evelyn) Bullerman.
