Luella Pavlovec

Luella Pavlovec age 85, formerly of Fort Atkinson, IA, died on Wednesday July 27, 2022 at Gundersen Health Systems in LaCrosse, WI. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 201 Oak Street in Fort Atkinson, IA with Rev. Nick Radloff presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials may be sent to Aase Haugen Foundation at 4 Ohio St., Decorah, IA 52101. Lou was the daughter of Norbert and Agnes (Kuennan) Hageman. She was born on their first farm near Calmar Iowa on November 28, 1936. Lou attended St. Aloysius Catholic School and Calmar High School, where she graduated in 1954. She married Frank Pavlovec in 1956, and they lived in Virginia for nearly 15 years while he was in the Navy. Their three children, Brian, Debbie and Beth were all born in Virginia. In 1973, Lou and her family moved home to Fort Atkinson, Iowa. She served as a secretary for the nursing program at Northeast Iowa Community College for more than 22 years until she retired. Then, she worked and volunteered at the Ossian Senior Hospice for as long as she could. Lou enjoyed many activities and hobbies, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends and caring for them in times of need. Luella is survived by her son: Brian (Giselle) Pavlovec, Seattle, WA; Two Daughters: Debra Pavlovec, Weatherford, OK, and Mary Beth Gentry, Little Rock, AR; Four Grandchildren: Marc Pavlovec, Luke Pavlovec, Joshua Wright and Jeremy Wright; Three brothers: Linus (Diane) Hageman, Calmar, IA, Lester (Shirley) Hageman, Fort Atkinson, IA and Merle (Darlene) Hageman, Calmar, IA; One sister: Mary Lou (Dave) Junko, Eldridge, IA. Luella was preceded in death by her parents: Norbert and Agnes (Kuennen) Hageman.
