Lorraine F. Roberg, age 95, of Decorah, Iowa, died Tuesday evening, July 16, 2013 at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 22, 2013 at First Lutheran Church in Decorah, with Rev. Chad Huebner officiating. Private Family Inurnment will be in the Phelps Cemetery in Decorah. Lorraine Frances Roberg was born February 6, 1918 at the Smith Memorial Hospital in Decorah, Iowa, the daughter of Hans and Irene (Moody) Roberg. She was baptized on April 7, 1918 at First Lutheran Church. Lorraine graduated from Decorah High School with the class of 1936. Lorraine worked at Interstate Power Co. in Decorah from 1937 until she retired after 40 plus years there. Once she retired she moved to Sun City, California to be close to her only sister, Ethel Miller. Lorraine was a champion lawn bowler and a talented china painter. She loved photography and traveling. She was a member of First Lutheran Church. She became a resident of Aase Haugen Home in August 2012. She was preceded in death by her father Hans in January 1970 and her mother Irene in November 1978. Lorraine is survived by her sister, Ethel Roberg Miller of Decorah, and close friends and guardians, Jane and Tom Brashears of Orange, California. Memorials may be given to Vennehjem, 1102 Nordic Drive, Decorah, IA 52101.
