Lorna Gipp

Lorna Gipp, age 69 of Eden Prairie, Minnesota (formerly of Decorah) passed away unexpectedly at her home in Eden Prairie. Services for Lorna will be held at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, with Dr. Jennifer Edinger presiding. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to gather for coffee and cookies after the burial. Lorna Jean Gipp was born in Decorah, IA on January 3, 1954, to her parents Elmer and Edith (Sersland) Gipp. She graduated from Decorah High School. Lorna moved to Minneapolis in her 20s and was employed at Sorum Wholesale Food and then at Acosta where she was a business Manager Assistant for Coca Cola and Minute Maid. Lorna enjoyed going to a cabin in North Minneapolis with friends on weekends and holidays. She enjoyed reading books and watching movies on TV. Her family and friends were often treated to her almond brittle candy. She enjoyed being Aunt Lorna to her nine nephews. Lorna is survived by her two sisters: Linda Hoppel of Garner, IA and Lois Estrem of Decorah, IA. Brother-in-law Troy Beam of Prior Lake, MN. Nephews: Chris Estrem, Steve Estrem, Mike Estrem, Jason Estrem, Scott Hoppel, Mark Hoppel, Todd Giem, and Josh Giem. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lyle Gipp, sister Lana Beam, Brothers-in-law Don Hoppel and Paul Estrem, and nephew Peter Estrem.
