Lois Wendlandt

Lois Wendlandt, age 74, of Decorah, IA passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah at a later date. Lois (Iverson) Wendlandt was born on December 6, 1947 to Leonard and Anna (Rohm) Iverson in Decorah. She attended Decorah schools and graduated from Decorah High School in 1966. She married Calvin Wendlandt on Aug 31,1968 at Union Methodist Church Worthington, MN. They had two sons: Eric and Jason. During their time in Cedar Mills, MN, Lois and Calvin helped to start a go-kart racing track at the local Rod and Gun club, and worked the family farm. After moving to the Dassel-Cokato area Lois worked a variety of jobs including shipping supervisor at Sci-Med Life Systems in Plymouth, MN, and bookkeeping at United Building Centers in Cokato. Lois spent many hours on the back porch watching the birds and taking in the beautiful lakeside view. Lois and Calving moved back to Decorah in 2009 where she spent her remaining years taking care of her mother, Anna. She enjoyed reading books, bowling, baking for the holidays, and spending time with her family. Lois is survived by her husband, Calvin Wendlandt of Decorah, IA. Sons: Eric (Cecilia) Wendlandt of Saginaw, MN and Jason (Patricia) Wendlandt of Macon, GA. Grandchildren: Tyler Wendlandt, Justin Wendlandt, Ivy Hoffman and Jasmine Hoffman, Trae and Brandon Lightfoot. Sister-in-law: Noreen Curry of St. James, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents: Leonard and Anna Iverson. Aunts and Uncles: Arnold (Dolores) Rohm, Martha (Charles) Rosendahl, Marvin (Ruth) Rohm, Mabel (Oliver) Eittriem, Esther (Harry) Barrett, and Erling (Marie) Rohm. Violet (Arnold) Paulson, Walter (Dorothy) Iverson, Irvin (Beatrice) Iverson, Evelyn (Gilbert) Ellingson, Mario (Raymond) Stortz, Ruth (Leonard) Severson, Thelmia (Rev. Milford) Sheldahl, and Virgil Iverson.
