Lois Francis Meyer was born on August 1, 1954, in Cresco, Iowa, to Frank and Angie Wagner. From the very beginning, Lois was grounded, kind, and devoted to the people around her—qualities that shaped her entire life. She attended South Winneshiek High School and graduated in 1972. After graduation, Lois began working at the Decorah Newspaper, starting a lifelong pattern of dedication and reliability that would follow her through every chapter of her career and family life.

On June 30, 1973, Lois married the love of her life, and best friend, Arnie Meyer. Their marriage was built on love, loyalty, and shared adventures, and together they created a life centered on family. Lois was a proud and devoted mother to their two children, Angela and Aaron, who were always the heart of her world.

Lois spent 27 years working at South Winneshiek Elementary School, where her steady presence, warm smile, and caring nature touched countless students and coworkers. She took great pride in her work and the community she served, retiring after nearly three decades of faithful service.

In retirement, Lois embraced the joys of life at a slower pace. She loved spending time swimming, going for bike rides, taking photographs, and soaking in the beauty of sunsets and flowers. Cozy evenings watching her favorite Hallmark movies brought her comfort and happiness. Still, her greatest joy was time spent with her family.

Nothing meant more to Lois than traveling west to visit her daughter Angela, son in law Dave, and her beloved grandchildren, Cordar and Lexi. She and Arnie spent more than four months out of each year traveling across the country, proudly cheering from the sidelines as Lexi played soccer and basketball. Lois cherished those trips, never missing an opportunity to support and encourage her grandchildren. She also deeply enjoyed winter trips to Arizona to visit her son Aaron, soaking up the warm sun and the special moments they spent together.

Lois will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her deep love for her family, and the way she found joy in both the big adventures and the quiet, everyday moments of life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Arnie Meyer; daughter, Angela (Dave) Moore of Boise, Idaho; son, Aaron (Ashley) Meyer of Scottsdale, Arizona; her treasured grandchildren, Cordar and Alexis Moore of Boise, Idaho; and her sister, Delores Koch of Des Moines, Iowa.
