Lloyd Hanson

Lloyd Hanson, age 87, of Decorah, Iowa, died on Sunday, December 28, 2008, at the Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah, Iowa, following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2009, at the Hesper Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Hesper Lutheran Cemetery, Hesper, Iowa. Friends may call from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2009, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, Iowa, and after 10:00 a.m. at the church on Friday morning. Lloyd’s survivors include his daughter: Candy (Jeff) Ode, Decorah, IA and one son: Todd (Joan) Welch, Brownsville, MN. Four grandchildren: Megan Welch; Jordan Welch; Jeremy (Laura) Ode and Bridget Ode. Two step-grandchildren: Brian & Tracy Heim. Two sisters: Nellie Falck, Decorah, IA and Marie Greening, Rochester, MN. One brother: Albert (Pat) Hanson, Plum City, WI. Two sisters-in-law: Marlis Pierce, Mabel, MN and Geri Worden, Spring Grove, MN, along with many nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents: Sam and Bertha (Olson) Hanson. His wife: LaVonne Hanson on January 22, 2007. One sister: Anna Hanson. Four brothers: Sylvan, Norman, Helmer and Melvin Hanson.
