Linus Bullerman

Linus Bullerman, age 67, of Decorah, IA, died on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Crossing Rivers Health Systems in Prairie Du Chien, WI. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 307 West Main Street, Decorah, IA, with Rev. Donald Hertges presiding. Burial will be in the St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery, Decorah, IA. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m., on Friday, June 25, 2021, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, Decorah, IA, and also after 10:00 a.m., at the church on Saturday morning. Linus graduated from South Winn in 1971. He began his work career driving truck for Bruening. Following his time at Bruening, he chose to start his own semi hauling business with his nephew, Bill Bullerman. Then he went to work for Wiltgen for twenty plus years where he hauled lime to many area farms. For several years before his retirement, he drove semi for Agri Processors. Linus knew many people from his years of driving truck in the area. He could tell you who was related to who and where they lived. He wasn’t all work and no play though. If there was at least three other people, a deck of cards, and a flat surface to play on, he was ready for a good card game. Being the lucky soul he was, he was usually on the winning side. Linus is survived by two sisters: Nancy Chapman, Marion, IA and Joan (Jim) Brace, Winthrop, IA. Two brothers: Roger (Pat) Bullerman, Decorah, IA and Cliff (Joyce A.) Bullerman of Decorah, IA. Sister-in-law: Carol Bullerman, Burr Oak, IA, along with several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Edwin Bullerman on April 25, 1994 and his mother: Evelyn (Meyer) Bullerman on Sept. 22, 2008. Brothers: Gerald Bullerman on April 10, 2004 and Arlo Bullerman on January 23, 2015. Niece: Lori Ann Bullerman on Sept. 30, 1972 (daughter of Roger and Pat). Brother-in-law: Robert W. Chapman in 1996, along with his grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
