Leona Beatrice Rosendahl

Leona Rosendahl, age 92, of Calmar, Iowa, died on Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, Iowa, following a short illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar, Iowa with Rev. Donald Hawes officiating. Burial will be in the Calmar Lutheran cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, French Chapel in Calmar, Iowa, and after 9:00 a.m. Monday morning at the church. There will be a scripture service at 4:00 and Rosary at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Survivors: Two daughters: Janice (LaVern) Schmitt, Lime Springs, IA and Carolee (Norman) Oberheu, Denver, IA. One son: Dennis (Mary Ann) Rosendahl, Des Moines, IA. One brother: Arnold Sobolik, Cedar Rapids, IA. One sister-in-law: Ellen Jordahl, Decorah, IA. Eight grandchildren: Bryan (Betty) Schmitt, Julie (Michael) Pfeffer, Michael (Tina) Oberheu, Mark Oberheu, Daniel (Shannon) Oberheu, Tami (Greg) Staut, Terry (Deb) Rosendahl, and Melissa (Chad) Snyder and fourteen great grandchildren. Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Herman in 1992; her parents; a sister: Helen Schneberger and a daughter in infancy: Linda Sue Rosendahl.
