Lenora Fossum

Lenora R. Fossum died at Wellington Place in Decorah on Friday, July 14, 2017 at age 79. Lenora Rachel Mann was born in Cloverdale, Indiana on March 30, 1938 to Virginia and Leonard Mann. She graduated from Cloverdale High School in 1956, received her B.S. degree in 1960 from DePauw University, and earned her Master’s degree from Indiana University. She was in the sorority Delta Delta Delta at DePauw. Lenora taught middle school students in Indianapolis, Indiana suburban schools for seven years. On June 19, 1965 she married Verdell Fossum in the Methodist Church in Cloverdale. Together they had two children, Jay and Daniel. In 1966 they moved to Decorah, Iowa where she continued to teach middle school for 27 years, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed tending flowers and traveling the United States, and spending winters in Arizona. There are no services planned.
