Kevin Fonley

Kevin Fonley, age 57, of Cresco, IA, died on Sunday, June, 9, 2019 after a long battle with cancer at his sisters home in Ossian, IA. A celebration of life will be held for Kevin from 4:00 – 7:00pm on Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Ave in Decorah. Kevin Dayle Fonley was born on March 6, 1962 the son of Dayle and Lorraine (Ruroden) Fonley in Omaha, NE. He was baptized at a Presbyterian Church in Plattsmouth, NE and confirmed at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Eldorado, IA. Kevin attended schools around the West Union area. Kevin was a longtime employee of Featherlite in Cresco. He enjoyed riding his Ranger in the country, having his coffee at the Hideway with his friends and his Uncle Butch, taking road trips with his cousin Lew, woodworking, being outside in the country and spending time with his cousins. Kevin is survived by his sons: Devin (Andrea) Fonley, Strawberry Point, IA and Tanner Habeger, Cedar Rapids, IA. Grandchildren: Jadon and Cole Fonley and Hayden Habeger. Parents: Lorraine Pape, West Union, IA and Dayle Fonley, Nashua, IA. Sister: Roxanne (Joe) Helgeson, Ossian, IA. Brother: Deano Pape, Indianola, IA. He was preceded in death by his brother: Brett Fonley. Step-father: Dean Pape. Grandparents: Herman (Marie) Fonley, Clarion (Ula) Helgerson and Emory Ruroden.
