Kenneth Krivachek

Kenneth Krivachek, age 63, of Fort Atkinson, IA, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at his home in Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home Chekal Chapel, 201 Main Street in Fort Atkinson. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. following the visitation with Rev. Aaron Junge presiding. Burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery following the service. Kenny was born on July 3, 1956 the son of Edward and Cyrilla (Geling) Krivachek. He attended St. John's Catholic School in Fort Atkinson and graduated from Turkey Valley Highschool in Jackson Junction, Iowa.  After graduation, he worked in Road Construction and was employed by Myers Brothers, Holland Brothers, and Roverud Construction, followed by retirement. Kenny better known as "Chet", was a fun-loving person. Always easy going and ready and willing to help anyone in need. Kenny loved his sports. When he was younger, he played many games of baseball, softball, basketball, and football. He was a true fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Turkey Valley Trojans. He would often say that his favorite month was "March Madness". Kenny loved playing cards with family and friends. Some of his other favorite pastimes were fishing, and picking morels. Kenny is survived by his siblings: Donald Krivachek (friend Judy Spalla) of Fort Atkinson, Iowa, Norine (Dale) Schmitt of Epworth, Iowa, Mark (Lynn) Krivachek of Decorah, Iowa, Marvin Krivachek (friend Jane Lechtenberg) of Fort Atkinson, Iowa. Two nieces and four nephews: Shawn (Carmen) Krivachek, Aaron (Acacia) Schmitt, Elizabeth (Shane) Brandt, Matthew (Kelly Creek) Schmitt, Jason (Allison) Krivachek, Gina (Rusty) Whalen, and several great nieces and nephews. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Eddy and Cyrilla Krivachek, Grandparents, John Sr. and Elizabeth (Bessie) Krivachek, Frank and Elizabeth Geling, his sister Karen (in infancy), several Aunts and Uncles, and his beloved dog, Sandy.
