Judy Kuboushek

Judy Kuboushek, age 65, of Calmar, IA, died peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2012, at her home, from a short courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, Iowa. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, and also on Wednesday morning after 9:00 a.m., at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, French Chapel, 202 South Washington St., Calmar, Iowa. There will be a rosary at 4:00 p.m., and a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Judith Ann (Mashek) Kuboushek was born on July 17, 1947, the daughter of William and Regina (Shileny) Mashek in Decorah, Iowa. Judy attended St. Aloysius Catholic School and graduated from South Winn High School in 1965. She worked as a secretary at Bucheit Produce in Calmar. Judy was united in marriage to Wesley Kuboushek on May 25, 1968, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar, Iowa. Together they had four children: Janet, Jeff, Brian and Kathy. Judy worked at Infastech (Camcar) in Decorah for twenty-nine years, retiring in July 2012. Judy loved to play cards, listen to country music, travel, read and to bake. Above all, she loved and adored her eight grandchildren. She also loved to laugh, play pranks and tell a good joke to all. Judy was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and Ladies Guild. Judy is survived by her loving husband of forty-four years: Wesley Kuboushek, Calmar, IA. Four children: Janet (Tim) Kazynski, Shakopee, MN; Jeff (Charity) Kuboushek, Ossian, IA; Brian (Lori) Kuboushek, Calmar, IA; and Kathy (Tim) Green, Ossian, IA. Eight grandchildren: Megan and Blake Kazynski, Noah and Cael Kuboushek, Katelyn and Kyle Kuboushek, and Theo and Myles Green. One brother: John (Dorothy) Mashek, Calmar, IA. One sister: Marge Mracek, Protivin, IA. One sister-in-law: Gayle Mashek, Fredericksburg, IA. One brother-in-law: Leonard (Betty) Kuboushek, Spillville, IA. Judy was preceded in death by her parents: William and Regina (Shileny) Mashek. One granddaughter: Isabel Green. Two brothers: Robert Mashek and Stanley Mashek. One brother-in-law: Leonard Mracek. One sister-in-law in infancy: Dorothy Kuboushek. Her father and mother-in-law: James and Rose Kuboushek.
