She was the fourth of 11 children. Judy attended St Francis De Sales Catholic School and graduated in 1960. After high school she attended the Paris Beauty Academy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On August 20, 1963, she married Norbert Bullerman and they recently celebrated 60 years together. To this union seven children were born. Judy and Norb raised their family south of Calmar. Judy’s family was the most important thing to her. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, attending countless ball games. She was a HARD worker! She owned her own beauty shop for years. She could pick strawberries in the morning, help bale hay, while making lunch for the rest of us, do the dishes and clean up the kitchen so that she could make the BEST strawberry jam that evening. She had a couple of gardens because she had 7 kids to feed (and Norb). She canned tomatoes and corn, made bread and froze apples and made apple pies. Her special dishes included squirrel pie, dandelion potatoes, vegetable soup with homemade dumplings and homemade donuts. You would never leave Judy’s house hungry; it was an unwritten rule. It just made sense to wear stretchy pants to family gatherings! She loved to quilt and sew. She made clothes for her kids as well as Barbies and baby dolls. And the quilts! She made each of her grandchildren a quilt to keep them warm, many of which required mending after excess snuggling. Judy enjoyed playing cards, so let the heavenly card tournaments begin. Judy is survived by her husband Norbert, 6 daughters and 1 son, Lynne (Jim Rayner) Bullerman, Pam (Bill) Kovarik, Joan (Brian) Busta, Doug (Sheila) Bullerman, Tricia Busta, Nadine Bullerman, Rebecca (Steve Vogt) Bullerman. 18 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, Crystal (Kyle) Anderson, Dominic & Kolt, Joshua (Ashley) Rauk, Blakelyn & Hayden, Taylor (Justin) Bakula, Stef, Olivia Rauk, Keith Kovarik, Blake, Evan (Marrah), Breanna, Logan Busta, Tiana (Gavin), Tayton (Sierra), Kaden, Kiara Bullerman, Kennedy, Xavier, Jayden Busta, Raygan & Delaney Vogt. She is also survived by her brother Dave Holthaus, and sisters Connie Sande and Maxine (Karl) Klotzbach and sisters-in-law Sue Holthaus, Elaine Holthaus, Lorraine Holthaus, Mary Ellen Holthaus, Audrey (Ron) Rear, and brother-in-law Dan Schmitt and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother-in-law Raymond and Josephine Bullerman, brothers Adrian, Willard, Ken, and Ron, sisters Inez Schmitt, Jane (Doug) Blair and Pat Seiler, niece Theresa Holthaus and nephews Philip Blair and Cory Sande.
