John Frana

John Frana, age 83 of Decorah, IA died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Wellington Place in Decorah, IA.   Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at Wellington Place at 2479 River Rd. Decorah, IA by Rev. Donald Hawes from St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar, IA. Cards can be sent to Claudette Ean Lamprecht 13804 E. Wellington Crescent Burnsville, MN 55337. Memorials may be sent to Wellington Place (Activities Dept.), 2479 River Road, Decorah, Iowa. John Robert was born April 29, 1930 to Rose and Louis Frana in Calmar, Iowa. He attended grade school in Calmar and attended St. Colletta’s School in Jefferson, Wisconsin until age 21. He returned to Calmar to live with his mother Rose Frana and retained with her until June 1982 when Rose past away. John then went to live in Decorah at the Oneota River View Care Facility, now known as Wellington Place. He worked at Spectrum Industries until his retirement. John enjoyed music, parties, watching his favorite TV shows, and participating in various activities offered by Wellington Place’s Activity Department. John’s survivors include two sisters: Clotiel Kuennan of St. Lucus, Rosemary Shaber of Lewiston, Idaho, Guardian and Niece Claudette Ean Lamprecht and husband John and many other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents Rose and Louis Frana and brother Louis Jr. Frana (1982), sister Loretta Frana Ean of Calmar, Iowa (12/8/2006) and husband Norbert, sister (Norma) Jeanne Meyer (12/28/2010) and husband Arnie, brother-in-law- Herman Kuennen, brother David Frana (08/20/2011) and sister Genieve Rose (1923).
